The BenQ InstaShow WDC15 is a hardware wireless presentation system built for huddle spaces and small meeting rooms. A receiver connects to the room display and a compact Button plugs into the presenter’s laptop, so sharing a screen takes one tap on the Button’s present key. There is no app to install, no driver to load and no network configuration to complete, which makes it as easy for a guest as for the team that uses it every day. The receiver supports up to 16 simultaneous connections, so extra Buttons can be paired for rooms where several people present in turn.

Video performance is the step up that defines this model. The receiver outputs up to 4K at 30Hz over HDMI 1.4 with HDCP support, and it accepts input at up to 4K at 30Hz, so slides, spreadsheets and video clips reach the display at full detail rather than being scaled down to Full HD. The Button connects by USB Type-C as standard and can be switched to an HDMI connection for laptops without a suitable Type-C port. Because the link is dedicated hardware rather than screen-mirroring software, the presenter experience stays the same across Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS machines.

Presenting without the setup routine

Most meeting delays happen before anyone presents: downloads, permissions, cable adapters and network logins. InstaShow removes those steps entirely. The receiver and Button pair automatically, the Button takes its cue from a physical present key and a mode key, and BenQ allows the receiver’s idle and guide screens to be customised with a logo and room name.

Wireless link and security

The WDC15 uses a WiFi 5 connection in the 5 GHz band with a maximum wireless data rate of AC1200, 867 Mbps on 5 GHz, and a transmission distance of up to 15 metres, sized for huddle and small meeting rooms rather than large halls. Content is protected with WPA3 access and AES 128-bit encryption, and because the system creates its own direct link, presentation traffic does not need to pass through the corporate network at all.

Receiver, cradle and installation

The receiver measures 110 x 110 x 29 mm without its antennas and weighs 205 g, so it mounts discreetly beside or behind a display. It provides an HDMI output, an RJ45 LAN port, a USB connection for touchback and a USB Type-C power port, running from a 5V, 2A supply with typical consumption of 10W. Two 2 dBi MIMO antennas serve the wireless link. The supplied cradle, 84.5 x 62.5 x 128 mm, holds Buttons on the table between sessions, keeping the kit together and ready.
